The Neurotic Notebook by Lena Friedrich #Netgalley #TheNeuroticNotebook

¡Hola corazones!

“The Neurotic Notebook playfully explores the relationship between the meaning of words and their visual forms.” It said the blurb when I choose the book in the catalogue. First of all I want to thanks #Netgalley and the publisher for the arc, in exchange for the honest review.

The neurotic notebook by Lena Friedrich is a very difficult book to catalogue. For moments it's on the same page that “The princess saves herself in this one” but made out of one hundred one liners, and in other they are just random phrases with a clever use of the graphic design.

You will read it in about twenty minutes or less. There just one hundred sentences in the whole book, well… notebook.

The sentences are common place of some sort of universal neurosis. Things like:  “You dont feel great, you are a looser, maybe you will get better”, and that sort of thing.

My two stars goes for the designer who put this together, who is the actual responsible that this books looks awesome in some aesthetic way. Like a scribble notepad.

I was hoping for more. I don´t know… these kind of books that you could actually tweet in one thread, don´t get along with me. Even if is there is some attempt to reflect about neurosis and daily life.

This one was easy to read, but that doesn't mean anything, although you could put it as fast reading to increase the volume of your Goodreads reading challenge. Twenty minutes one book more.
